“As Many As Ye Shall Find, Bid To The Marriage”
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” Revelation 18:1,2,4. God's message of truth will go to the world with “great power.” Its rays will lighten the world. With a mighty voice the message will sound around the world.
The world has great opportunity to know the truth. Bibles are everywhere. If the people held the Bible as their guide in life and prayerfully studied it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit the truth would be revealed to them! But Satan has made a plan to keep the truth from the minds of the people. He has made multiple distractions that have captivated the minds of the people. They are entertained by the sports. The sports are idolized; big coliseums are built for them. Their thoughts are on “what's the newest movie?” or “what's the new video game?” They are amused at the amusement parks to get a thrill that quickly fades away. Their minds are also ingested with the newest fashions of the world. The cities are full of drunkenness and thus their minds are dulled and cannot discern truth from Satan's lies. Their minds are beclouded by the “sorceries” or “drugs”
(“pharmacy” that is prescribed by doctors given by the nurse or pharmacist) of Babylon which by it all nations are deceived (See Revelation 18:23). By these things Satan holds captive the minds of the people.
Yet in these cities and towns there are those who are yearning for truth. There are many who are crying out to God. The world is not satisfying them. Many have gone for the money and have worked vigorously to obtain it, but in vain they looked for it to bring peace and happiness to soul. They have done and tried many things to have peace and happiness, but in the end they were void of it. There are many of these souls who want to know the true pathway to peace.
God hath “made a great supper” and bids all to come (See Luke 14:16). This is a spiritual feast of truth: “and he that cometh…
shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35)! Why? Here, you partake of the “Bread of Life”. Here, you abide in Christ and Christ abides in you. Here, Christ teaches you words of life given in His word and they are put into practice. This is a great spiritual feast of truth! Here is presented the truths of Christ's atonement, justification by faith, the promise of eternal inheritance for the redeemed, the great prophecies of the book of Daniel and Revelation, the work of Christ in the sanctuary, and the everlasting law of God which are all given to us in the Word of God which is “...for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”. Here, is the faith of Jesus (2 Timothy 3:16)! When someone partakes of this great spiritual feast of truth, applying it to the life, they “shall never hunger” for they receive “daily bread”. And it is out of God's love for us that He invites us to the feast.
Jesus gives a command to His servants saying “Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage”
(Matthew 22:9). After we partake of this supper, we, as the servants of Christ, are to bid others to come and also partake of this supper.
"In the command to go into the highways and hedges, Christ sets forth the work of all whom He calls to minister in His name. The whole world is the field for Christ's ministers. The whole human family is comprised in their congregation. The Lord desires that His word of grace shall be brought home to every soul." - Ellen White, Christ's Object Lessons, p. 229.1
Jesus says in Mark 16:15, “...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is our duty now. We are to give them the everlasting gospel of peace by inviting them to partake of the supper. We must not delay! The people are blind and in darkness. Satan is driving multitudes to perdition. Thousands are perishing under the heavy weight of sin and long to be free. “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” “...that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” Romans 10:14-15; Isaiah 52:7. Wake up, wake up and arise to action! “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2). “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry” (Timothy 4:5). Jesus says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..."
(Matthew 28:19,20). From city to city, town to town, in every country on the earth, the message of truth is to be proclaimed. "Oh, how I seem to hear the voice day and night, 'Go forward; add new territory; enter new territory with the tent, and give the last message of warning to the world. There is no time to be lost. Leave My memorial in every place where ye shall go. My Spirit will go before you, and the glory of the Lord shall be your rearward.'" - Ellen White, Evangelism p. 61.2
Right now, in the United States we have the opportunity to freely share the truth with others. We can openly go into the streets and handout books, hold evangelistic meetings, do Bible studies, and freely worship God according to the dictates of our conscience. In some countries this opportunity has already been taken away. The Bible reveals the United States, here described as a beast with two horns as a lamb, will “speak as a dragon” and it is said that he will exercise “all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.” “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Rev-elation 13:12,5,17). There will soon come a time that giving the truth, even in the United States, will be life threatening. So, while we have opportunity to give the message freely let the church arouse to action and give the message. Books and Bible tracts must be spread all around, evangelistic meetings held, Bible studies with the people conducted, bidding the world to the great supper of truth!
“All are now deciding their eternal destiny. Men need to be aroused to realize the solemnity of the time, the nearness of the day when human probation shall be ended. Decided efforts should be made to bring the message for this time prominently before the people.” –Testi-monies, vol. 6, p. 16. There is a personal labor for everyone to do in bidding people to the great supper. God gives the promise to His servants “...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20).
