Watch Out Saints!

The purpose of this section of the newsletter is “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear” (1 Timothy 5:20). “If thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand” (Ezekiel 33:8). We want to have those Adventists that are unaware of these things being error and to avoid them. And “whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:19).

“And when they succeed in bringing together a large number of people they must bear messages of a character so out of the usual order that the people will be aroused and warned. They must make use of every means that can possibly be devised for causing the truth to stand out clearly and distinctly. The testing message for this time is to be borne so plainly and decidedly as to startle the hearers and lead them to desire to study the Scriptures” {9T 109.2}.

"There are today many who pursue a similar course. Like Saul, they are blinded to their errors. When the Lord seeks to correct them, they receive reproof as insult, and find fault with the one who brings the divine message." { 2BC 1014.7 }

How to Celebrate Sabbath - avoid a perfectionist attitude

Article: To gain a sense of peace during the Sabbath, you will find that it’s best to prepare as much as possible before sunset Friday—cleaning the house, ironing and setting out clothes, preparing food and snacks, and doing other things that create a restful environment. However, your pre-Sabbath preparations may fall short as, Ladine says, “you feel the challenge of the deadline, and sometimes you can’t get everything done ahead of time.” Remember that the Sabbath was not meant to be burdensome; it was created for our benefit. As Jesus stated when questioned about healing on the Sabbath, “Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27).

EGW: “The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but God being removed, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure” {1SM 204.2}.

Bible: Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8).

Comment: In addition to teaching to lightly regard the Sabbath, the phrase “celebrate Sabbath” is the wrong motivation. We are told to keep it holy not “celebrate” it.

Hong Kong Adventist College Student Uses Fashion And Dance to Combat Racism

EGW: “There are amusements, such as dancing, card playing, chess, checkers, etc., which we cannot approve because Heaven condemns them”
{AH 498.2}. “Satan, the instigator and prime mover in the ever-changing, never-satisfying decrees of fashion, is always busy devising something new that shall prove an injury to physical and moral health” {CTBH 85.2}.

Bible Answers Live (Doug Batchelor)

Shortened Question: Is Sunday law coming in the next 3 months from the Trump Administration?

Doug’s Summary Answer: He admits being at the White House receiving a Religious Liberty briefing. “There is nothing on the horizon that I heard of where they are making a Sunday law that is coming out of the current administration. I would not worry about that. It may come some day but I do not see it on the horizon imminently. A matter of fact, it is more happening in Europe right now.”

Ellen White: “The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger” {5T 452.1} .

Ellen White: “The dignitaries of church and State will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance” {GC88 592.3}.

Comment: We agree with Doug Batchelor that in June, July, August, and even September, we probably will not see a Sunday law as it would be a time setting and unnecessary fear support, but we disagree with Doug greatly when he stated that it is not on the horizon. The fact that he received a Religious Liberty briefing means he is accepting of what he is being told instead of looking at activities. We had already reported in the July 2019 issue of this publication that “Although Republicans are pretty much against enacting any actions to combat climate change, they have declared that they would be willing to concede a bit to secure votes. So, here we have scaled-down version of the demands. Sooner or later something is going to give, and finally the solution, as suggested by the papacy, will take effect.” The New Green Deal is connected, admittedly by Representative and author Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to Laudato Si, which is pope’s solution document of Sunday law. And we know legislation can pop up, be voted upon, and passed in a matter of hours, at most, days if they have a rapid agenda to complete. And simply having Evangelicals influencing the White House also makes it imminent. It is on the Horizon. What is sad is that in the past few years, Doug was putting out videos on “papacy updates” on a regular basis revealing the nearness of time and even urgency of events, but now he has been growing silent. An honest question is, “Is the General Conference putting pressure upon him to tone it down?”

In the United Kingdom, Adventist Youth March Against Knife and Gun Crime

Bible: No example of participating in marches. Teaching and preaching to those who are willing to hear is all the means to be used.

EGW: “Avoid politics; shun contention” {5T 339.2}. “The side issues are not for us to meddle with. The burden of the work is, Preach the word” {TM 331.2}.

Comment: We are not to deal with political issues through marches but on individual basis. Converting of the soul or souls is to be our focus. We are not to spend our energy, means, or whatever other resources taking up political issues.

Comment: The title says enough. We shall not repeat the abomination of making a joke of scripture promoting sinful lusts.

Ellen White: Large quantities of milk and sugar eaten together are injurious. They impart impurities to the system. . . . Sugar clogs the system. It hinders the working of the living machine.  {CH 149.1}

NAD Ministerial

NextGen Pastor Pin Collection for Chosen International Pathfinder Camporee

PIN #4—CHOSEN TO LEAD - WOMEN PASTORS SPECIAL EDITION (PINK) - If you are a girl, young woman, desiring to become a pastor in the future or considering this option, even if you have not made your mind up yet, you will receive this pin as a gift. You can claim this gift at the North American Division Ministerial Association Booth (Booth #513 in Hangar A).

There you will also be able to visit with the North American Division Ministerial Team. These are your Pastors’ Pastors, who will be available to pray with you and encourage you as you contemplate the possibility of serving God as a pastor in the future.

Current women clergy, who are present at the Camporee can also claim a pin at the North American Division Ministerial Booth.

Bible for PIN #4: 1 Timothy 3:1 - This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.

Comment for PIN #4: A bishop is also a pastor as well as an elder all of which is reserved to the role being fulfilled by a man, a male. It has nothing to do with men being superior but the symbolism of pointing to Jesus Christ, the head of the church. No lamb with a blemish could be used in the sacrifices despite some lambs with blemishes being superior in ability. Likewise, Cain deviating from the expected sacrifice found out quickly what was pleasing to God. Deviating from the male role has its consequences.

Bible for PIN #6: 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Comment for PIN #6: Why are there six colors on this pin when it is the combination of the prior background colored pins, which there are only 5. Therefore, Pin #6 should only be 5 colors for the background. In comparison to the LGBQ+ movement rainbow flag, this pin nearly represents it. Why could they not use a stark change in color instead of nearly representing the homosexual colors? They could have used black, white, dark brown, something. But first glance looks too closely to be resembling the anti-biblical position of homosexuality.
